Whole Kids Health offers the flexibility and choice of in-person services at our North York location or remote (virtual) services via secure video. We can also accommodate hybrid care, in which either in-person or virtual sessions can be scheduled, depending on what works best for that week or appointment.
-
Fees vary depending on your clinician’s level of education, training, and experience, as well as appointment length and type of service.
Payment for service is due at the end of each session and you will be able to access your invoice and receipt through our secure system. Cash, e-transfer, and credit card are the accepted methods of payment.
-
Our services are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) but are often partially or fully covered by extended health benefit/insurance plans. Please check your insurance plan to determine your eligibility and coverage.
-
Depending on your service with Whole Kids Health, your appointment time can vary.
Whole Kids Care Plan appointments are 90-minutes in length and include a fulsome overview of presentation and needs, and the creation of an individual care plan.
Individual therapy sessions are one hour, in which 50 minutes are spent directly with the client and 10 minutes are dedicated to preparation and documentation. Group therapy appointments will vary based on the type of group offered (e.g., weekly group, workshop, education session).
Fees for assessment appointments vary depending on the nature and scope of the assessment and will be discussed with you prior to commencing care.
-
The number and frequency of sessions can vary depending on goals and needs. This will be discussed with you at the onset of care, following the initial Whole Kids Care Plan appointment.
-
Parents/caregivers are encouraged to attend the first appointment with their child or youth. It will be important for parents/caregivers and child or youth to participate in the process of informed consent, have opportunity to ask questions, and to gain any clarifications needed, prior to continuing with services.
-
Your Whole Kids Health clinician dedicates time and planning in preparation for your appointment. If you need to cancel a session, please let your clinician know as soon as possible. If you reschedule or cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice, or if you miss a scheduled appointment, you will be charged the full fee of your session.
If you have an in-person appointment scheduled and prefer to meet virtually, your session can be shifted to a virtual appointment at the same scheduled time.
-
A referral from your primary care physician is not required.
However, physician referrals are welcome and can facilitate communication with your Whole Kids Health clinician. We typically adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to treatment and, with your permission, we will work collaboratively with your medical team in order to individualize treatment goals and support ongoing care.
If you are a physician/professional practice provider looking to refer a patient, please see Physician Referrals for more information.
