Dr. Rivky Green is a Psychologist in Supervised Practice at Whole Kids Health. She completed her residency at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in pediatric Neuropsychology and Health Psychology.

Experience

Dr. Green is a compassionate clinician, dedicated to the well-being and development of children, adolescents, and their families. Her clinical expertise spans across a wide range of needs, including anxiety, depression, emotion and behavioural regulation, and learning difficulties. She has also received extensive training in caring for children and families who are coping with neurological and medical conditions. Dr. Green approaches each individual with the utmost compassion, making them feel safe and understood throughout their journey.

Clinical Approach

Dr. Green is skilled in a range of therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based practices, and parent-child behavioural therapies. This allows her to tailor her treatment approach to each individual.

Dr. Green also takes a comprehensive approach to her work. She considers various factors such as developmental processes, biological predispositions, neuropsychological considerations, as well as interpersonal and systemic factors. By examining all of these elements, she is able to gain a deeper understanding of her clients' needs.

Background & Training

Dr. Green is a skilled clinician with added training in pediatric Neuropsychology and Health Psychology. She completed her Masters and Doctoral training at York University, in Toronto. During her studies, Dr. Green underwent clinical training at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Toronto General Hospital, and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. In these settings, she provided neuropsychological assessments and health psychology interventions to individuals with various medical, neurological, and mental health conditions. Having worked in a hospital environment, Dr. Green understands the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in delivering exceptional client-centred care. She believes that working together with professionals from different disciplines is crucial for providing the best possible care to patients. Dr. Green also received training at the York University Psychology Clinic (YUPC) and in private practice.

Education & Research

Dr. Green is passionate about implementing prevention frameworks to help curb childhood mental health and medical disorders, and it informs her research, community outreach, and the way she provides psychological services. She has led didactic trainings for summer camp staff on strategies to prevent problematic behaviors in campers, as well as provided workshops for teachers. Dr. Green also delivers research presentations at international academic conferences and interdisciplinary meetings. Moreover, Dr. Green is involved in knowledge translation related to mental health prevention and strives to promote equitable population-wide access to psychological support.
