Shontae is our amazing clinic volunteer, bringing dedication, compassion, and a genuine desire to support others.
Experience
Shontae has gained valuable experience as a volunteer grief support group facilitator at the Center for Grief and Healing, where she assists individuals in navigating the complexities of grief. Having personally experienced the loss of a parent at a young age, she is deeply committed to helping others through some of life’s most difficult challenges. Additionally, Shontae has worked as an intake coordinator at a psychology clinic in Toronto, where she developed skills in matching clients with the appropriate clinicians and managing various administrative tasks. She also serves as a contributing writer and senior editor for The Trauma and Mental Health Report, a magazine affiliated with Dr. Robert T. Muller at York University
Background & Training
Shontae is currently in her fourth year of undergraduate studies, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at York University. She aspires to obtain a Master’s Degree in counselling psychology and to work as a psychotherapist, working with children. Shontae is passionate about providing support to individuals facing mental health challenges in a compassionate and empowering manner.
